What is drama
Welcome to drama!
We are going to have lots of fun together learning about different elements of drama. Drama is an outlet for self-expression, imagination and transformation. This resource will explore three different themes:
The Classroom Circus where you learn about celebratory events and develop, devise, rehearse and present a performance.
Where the Wild Things Are where we look at stories, characters, scenes, play and drama. You will get the opportunity to play a character from the book.
Let’s go to the theatre where we will watch a performance and share in the experience with another.
Drama involves using dramatic elements and conventions to express ideas, considering particular audiences and particular purposes, through dramatic action based on real or imagined events (ACARA, 2017).
Elements of drama are:
-
tension
