Record your planning in Art Journal
STORY PLANNING
Work individually to brainstorm ideas for a story
Once you have brainstormed individually, work in small teams 3-4 people to bring your ideas together as a group.

A frame is a single photograph
Frames per second = how many photographs will be seen in one second of film
-
More frames per second = faster
-
Less frames per second = slower
You will be using 10 frames per second, so you will need 150 photos in total.
-
150 photos / 10 frames per second = 15 seconds of film
WHAT IS A FRAME?

Many animators like those who
created Wadu Matiyidi, use
storyboard to plan the frames.
Storyboarding is a way of telling a story through pictures. You write a story, break it down into simple actions, and then draw it in pictures.
You also think about which camera angle/ type will best capture the information you want to convey in a scene.
By using the Storyboard Template, you complete the first stage involved in making a film or animation.
STORYBOARDS
PROP AND SET DESIGN
Use the prop and set checklist to record everything you will need to bring your story to life.
Make your props and set using materials of your choice – paper, fabric, everyday objects, clay etc.
Tick off your props as you make them.

Write a short reflection in your art journal
- what did I/we do well
- what did I/we need to think more about
Share your reflection with your group
